3 EASY WAYS TO UNWIND
Everyone gets stressed. Even the most carefree, easygoing people can’t always avoid the pressures of everyday life. And although stress may just seem like a minor inconvenience at times, everyday stresses can add up. However, if you lower your daily stress level, you could be better equipped to deal with bigger issues when they pop up. Here are three ways to lower your stress levels and bring some relaxation into your life.

FEEL THE RELAXATION
Breathing deeply can send calming signals from your brain to your body. Try this basic yoga technique: sit upright, close your eyes and roll your tongue into a straw (if you’re not a tongue-curler, don’t worry—the most important thing is to just relax and focus on your breath). Breathe in deeply and count to three; then exhale out your nose. Repeat. Better already!

Bonus Tip: Yoga and meditation can offer many of the same relaxation benefits.

HEAR THE RELAXATION
The sound of silence has its benefits, but soothing music may be just what you need to unwind. Slow, classical music can potentially lower your pulse and heart rate, which in turn helps lower the levels of stress hormones like cortisol and epinephrine. However, don’t just limit yourself to classical! Music preferences are individual, so find the songs that calm you and work it into your day, whether that’s in your car, the shower or while you’re at work!

TASTE THE RELAXATION
Relaxation can come from a warm cup or tea or spoonful of your favorite ice cream. A cup of hot Lipton® Tea can give you five minutes to yourself. The tea’s soothing warmth promotes a slower drinking pace, allowing you to recognize your surroundings and focus on your mental state. If you prefer the colder side, reward yourself and enjoy the treat of your favorite Breyers® Ice Cream. Either way, you will find that a little indulgence can go far in your eliminating stresses.

Although stress is here to stay, there is good news: When you engage your senses—be it touch, sound or taste—you can become relaxed and quickly shift your outlook. Give these tips a try and live life the way you want. You’ve got the tools to conquer your stress for carefree days to come.
